Shramsansar is a platform for providing information on employment and entrepreneurship opportunities in the labor market. It is designed to establish a relationship between stakeholders of the employment system—such as public and private labor market agencies, training providers, employment service providers, and employment providers—to create sustainable complementarity between them.
As per the Constitution of Nepal 2072, employment is established as a fundamental right, and the local government takes ownership of its implementation. The local government plays a facilitating and regulatory role among stakeholders to sustainably operate the employment system.
Shramsansar acts as a platform for collaboration in the labor market by offering information on labor demand and supply. It provides updates on new employment opportunities and helps maintain systematic labor supply. With records of unemployed individuals and other stakeholders, Shramsansar becomes a fast and simple source of statistical labor market information. This benefits unemployed youth and all involved stakeholders by filling the gap in the current labor market.
The platform is launched under the ownership of the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security. Municipalities are expected to make practical use of databases, digital technology, and information systems to manage both labor demand and supply. The mobile application version will help unemployed youth easily access employment information, analyze labor market conditions, monitor labor policies, and assist in planning and documentation.
